The Men-Tall Health Club Charitable Trust was founded in 2018 by Mitch Thompson, two years after the loss of his cousin, Jamie Munday, to terminal cancer. Jamie's passing and the subsequent journey through grief deeply influenced Mitch, leading him to a greater understanding of mental health—something that was rarely discussed during his upbringing. This experience inspired Mitch to create a safe space where men could connect, share, and support one another through their challenges.
Today, The Men-Tall Health Club offers weekly peer support meetings exclusively for men, welcoming attendees from all walks of life, aged 18 and above. These meetings are designed to help men become better fathers, husbands, sons, and community members, ultimately benefiting the well-being of all.
Our vision extends beyond these support meetings. We aim to #changethenarrative around men's mental health and well-being by becoming a comprehensive support and connection provider for whānau. While we don't offer professional services ourselves, we can assist in connecting people with the appropriate support within our communities.
